The Promise Movie Story - Synopsis. A princess called Qingcheng (Cecilia Cheung) becomes the object of love and hate for Kunlun a slave (Jang Dong-Gun), a duke (Nicholas Tse) and a general (Hiroyuki Sanada) in this fantasy movie from Chen Kaige. A girl is looting on a battlefield. The son of the commander of the troops discovers that and wants to make her his slave. he will let her keep everything if She accepts. Instead she breaks his promise to him and ants to go to her mother. The Goddess Manshen tells the girl that her mother is dead now. The goddess has a unique proposition for the girl. She will lead a celebrated life as a beauty, she will lose every man she loves though. Starring: Nicholas Tse, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jang Dong-Kun, and Cecilia Cheung.
